TIFWAY-419 BERMUDA
Tifway-419, a deep, green grass with a fine leaf texture, has been the most popular sports turf for the last 40 years. It is one of the most durable hybrid Bermudas and recovers quickly from injury due to its dense and rapidly spreading growth habit. Highly disease resistant and tolerant of close mowing, its fine texture and soft blades provide a soft cushion which makes it ideal for use on fairways, roughs, sports fields and commercial and residential lawns.
TEMPERATURE TOLERANCE
Tifway-419 grows best in warm climates with full sun and little or no shade and can readily tolerate temperatures in excess of 100 degrees F. Although it may become dormant after repeated winter frosts, it will recover quickly once temperatures warm. Properly maintained, this grass will exhibit good winter color during a mild or moderate winter. This hybrid sod can be planted any time of the year.
DROUGHT TOLERANCE
This hybrid Bermuda grass will survive droughts with minimal water availability. One to two inches of actual available water provided weekly to the plant will produce an acceptable turf surface. This variety is endorsed by SAWS. According to a recent study, Tifway-419 can survive a 60-day drought.
TRAFFIC AND WEAR
A vigorous regenerator, Tifway-419 provides the best recuperative rates of all warm season turfgrasses and is recommended for areas with high traffic and heavy use.
